Job Description

The Director of Curriculum, Instruction and Technology plays a pivotal role in shaping the educational landscape of the district. The dynamic leader will oversee the development, implementation, and evaluation of curriculum, instructional practices, and the strategic integration of technology to foster student achievement and empower educators.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Curriculum and Instruction:

  • Collaborate with district leadership, educators, and community stakeholders to develop and implement a rigorous, standards-aligned curriculum that promotes critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills.
  • Provide guidance and support to educators in the selection and implementation of effective instructional practices, including differentiated instruction, project-based learning, and technology integration.
  • Design and implement professional development programs that equip educators with the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively implement curriculum and instructional practices.

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive assessment system that monitors student progress and informs instructional decisions.

  • Analyze student achievement data to identify trends and areas for improvement, and collaborate with administrators and educators to develop targeted interventions.

  • Support New Teacher Orientation and Mentor Plan.

  • Bring promising innovations and best practices to our school.

 

Technology:

  • Develop and implement a district-wide technology plan that aligns with the district's strategic goals and supports teaching and learning.

  • Oversee the selection, implementation, and maintenance of educational technology tools and resources.

  • Maintain technology equipment and systems (e.g. servers, telephone systems, intercoms, alarms, surveillance cameras, software applications, network) for the purpose of ensuring  that systems are functioning properly and effectively in support of district administrative and educational operations.

  • Provide training and support to educators in the effective use of technology to enhance teaching and learning.

  • Collaborate with technology staff to ensure the district's technology infrastructure is secure, reliable, and supports the needs of students and educators.

  • Serves as a resource for evaluation of equipment, software, performance standards and networking issues.

 

Job Qualifications

In addition to exemplary teaching experience, the Caledonia-Mumford Central School District requires, at minimum, the following qualifications:  

  • Master's degree in education, curriculum and instruction, or a related field. 

  • Certification as a School District Leader (SDL) 

  • Minimum of five years of experience in a leadership role in education.

  • Strong understanding of curriculum development, instructional practices, and technology integration.

  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead, manage, and work with a team.

  • Understanding EdLaw2D and its importance for school and student safety.

  • Passion for student success and commitment to educational equality.
